When a devastating earthquake hit Nepal in April 2015, it triggered a massive avalanche near the Tibetan border in a village called Langtang. As the villagers worked to rebuild life from the rubble, Langtang Designs was founded as a practical way for them to receive income and recover, together.
Langtang Designs focused on helping the women in this village rebuild their homes and lives, and uplift their community with the income they make from crafting handmade jewelry. As a female-run business, it continues to empower the community’s women by providing dignified jobs and fair wages.
