On Azerbaijani Socks

Azerbaijani Socks values people over everything, and prioritizes fair wages for their artisans—women in rural areas of Azerbaijan. This financial freedom offers the opportunity to provide for their families with honor while keeping the tradition of sock knitting in Azerbaijan alive. The women are paid at a higher rate than local-market value and are paid per piece, which means the women can work from home and at their own pace.

But their purpose goes beyond a transaction — Azerbaijani Socks prioritizes holistic support and care for the women they employ. They regularly sit down for tea in true Azerbaijani fashion, forming warm relationships and getting to know their knitters!
