Made Free
On Made Free
Made Free is a low profit social enterprise that creates life-changing jobs so every life can be made free. Headquartered in North Carolina, the company employs survivors of human trafficking, slavery, and extreme poverty in India to eliminate the vulnerability that comes with not having access to a livable wage.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 84% of unwanted clothes in the United States end up in landfills or are burned. Made Free offers a lifetime guarantee to reduce that waste. Every product is handcrafted by small groups of ethically employed makers using eco-friendly, organic, and recycled materials whenever possible. As members of the Social Enterprise Alliance, their factories are fair trade certified or exceed fair trade standards. They are also a member of the American Sustainable Business Council, a network of businesses that have committed themselves to the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit and received the “Most Socially Responsible Handbag” Award by- Independent Handbag Designer Awards, NY
