Part of their mission is to teach transferable skills like business and accounting to those they employ with the goal of making them more employable in the future. Makers are paid per piece, which means they make far above minimum wage in India.
Dekko in Hindi means “take a look”, a fitting name for a company that creates eye-catching and one-of-a-kind products that reflect the merging of two cultures — products are designed in Chattanooga, TN, and then crafted by expert artisans in Jaipur, India.
