Amani Ya Juu
On Amani Ya Juu
What began as 4 women sewing placemats in their home has turned into a network of over 200 women from diverse communities across Africa. The women are taught stitching, quality control, purchasing, bookkeeping, management and design with an emphasis on ethical business practices.
The Amani logo translates to “twists and turns” — a symbol of the winding path that life takes and the need for resilience through hardship and loss. Amani provides a safe space for the Amani makers to grow in resilience and prepare for their new path forward.
